Nescafe Unileague in Cyprus is almost on its halfway. The championship is taking place in the two biggest cities of Cyprus, Nicosia and Limassol. 30 teams and 400 minifootball players participate and live the game!
Nescafe Unileague, which was born 4 years ago, is the biggest and most successful championship on the island. The winners of Cyprus travel to Greece (iAthens) in order to compete against the winners of all the Greek cities for the Pan-Hellenic trophy, before the miniEURO that will take place in Moldova, towards the end of September. The games in the group stage have finished and the playoffs are about to begin during next week.
The play off matches (16 teams) of the Championship are the following:

5. EL CLASSICO VS PELATES

The matches are going to be single knock out games. The winners of each couple will continue to the final 8 teams. Each couple of teams will play double knock out games. The couples will be formed according to the following model:

2. WINNER 3 VS WINNER 4
3. WINNER 5 VS WINNER 6
4. WINNER 7 VS WINNER 8
As for the League Cup, the games of the last 8 teams of Cyprus are the following:

The teams that are leaders in the group stage and seem to be very strong are SPE STROVOLOU, FOOTBALL LOVERS, EL CLASSICO AND HORSES. Furthermore, there are some very good second teams that can make the surprise during the next days such as KOTSINOLAMBITES and BLACK KNIGHT. Some minifootball players that make the difference are Ursell Rob (Spe Strovolou) who is top scorer until now with 33 goals in 5 matches and Stavros Andreou (El Classico) with 29 goals in 5 matches. Most valuable players (MVPs) until now are Xatzivasilis George (Kotsinolambites) and Fragiskou Josef (Black Knight).
The games will go on during next week and EMF’s interest will definitely increase up to May 13th, when the Cypriot Final Four will take place.
