As anticipation builds for the EMF EURO 2026, the upcoming Nations Games series is set to play a crucial role in shaping teams ahead of one of the biggest events in European minifootball.

Taking place from late March through early May, these tournaments are more than just friendly competitions — they are high-intensity preparation platforms where national teams fine-tune tactics, build chemistry, and test themselves against international opponents.

The European Championship itself will be held in Bratislava from 27 May to 4 June 2026, featuring 24 national teams competing for continental glory. With such a prestigious tournament ahead, the Nations Games arrive at the perfect moment.

What Are the Nations Games?

The Nations Games can be described as preparatory international tournaments organized in multiple host cities across Europe. They offer:

  • Competitive match experience before the EURO
  • Opportunities to test squad depth and new players
  • Tactical experimentation against diverse playing styles
  • A chance to build momentum and confidence

For many teams, especially those outside the traditional top rankings, these events are vital stepping stones. According to EMF rankings, nations like Romania, Azerbaijan, and Serbia lead the European scene, while countries such as Slovakia, Montenegro, and the Czech Republic are steadily rising.

Nations Games 2026 Schedule

This year’s Nations Games will be played across four exciting destinations:

🇨🇿 Brno, Czech Republic (5–7 April)

The series kicks off in Brno, where Central European teams will look to set the tone. With the Czech Republic aiming to climb the rankings, this tournament is expected to be fiercely competitive.

 Târgu Mureș  (24–26 April)

Romania 🇷🇴

Romania hosts the second stage using the home advantage to test its EURO ambitions.

🇸🇰 Košice, Slovakia (30 April – 1 May)

Košice continues Slovakia’s rich minifootball tradition. Having hosted major events before, the city offers the perfect setting for the home team to prepare for the upcoming EURO on Slovak soil.

🇲🇪 Herceg Novi, Montenegro (3–5 May)

The final stop brings teams to the Adriatic coast. Montenegro, a rising force in European minifootball, will look to make a strong statement just weeks before the championship begins.

Why the Nations Games Matter

With only weeks separating the final Nations Games tournament and the start of EURO 2026, the stakes are higher than ever. These matches often determine:

  • Final squad selections
  • Tactical systems used at the EURO
  • Team morale and cohesion

In a sport where margins are small and matches are fast-paced, preparation can make the difference between group-stage elimination and a deep tournament run.

Final Countdown to Bratislava

As the Nations Games conclude in early May, all eyes will turn toward Bratislava — the historic birthplace of the competition, which hosted the first edition back in 2010  .

For players, coaches, and fans alike, the message is clear:

The road to EMF EURO 2026 starts now.
