A day of high drama here in Cambrils, Spain, as pre tournament favourites, Birbasha Baku, are out, after a shock exit at the hands of English side, Bucovina Badeuti, from the capital city, London.
Birbasha were the better team but heroics from the Bucovina keeper and important saves in the penalty shootout ensured the top team at this year’s tournament headed home earlier than planned.
The only other Azerbaijani team left in, Zire Baku, also exited after losing to The Private Rooftop from Hungary.
Romania dominated on day 3, and tomorrow they will have 3 teams in the semi finals, alongside The Private Rooftop, but this isn’t the first time this scenario has happened, a decade ago, 3 Romanian teams and a Hungarian team made up the final 4, but it was the Hungarian champions, Mad Dogs, that reigned supreme, can history repeat itself tomorrow night?!
Romanian national champions, Tazmannschaft Bucharest, continue to look the part, and it’s going to take an exceptional performance to take them down, however, last year’s Champions League winners, Nova Vita Targu Mures are still alive after they survived a nervy penalty shootout win earlier in the day.
One team that are just quietly going about their business, that no one is talking about yet, is Extraterestrii 2014 Bistrita, it would take a crazy person to bet against them at the moment as they look very good and continue to beat all before them, but only one team can walk away with the top prize!
