The 12th consecutive season of the N’JOY UNI-League came to its end and Nicossia became the 4th city to win the Trophy after Athens, Thessaloniki and Heraclion that have been sharing the Trophies since 2002 when the N’JOY UNI-League, the greatest Greek Minifootball Championship, started.
We have to note here that Cyprus has been participating in the Panhellenic Finals of Greece since 2008 and they have always had strong teams! However, this time, things were completely different. They were the BEST!
The Final Event was a big success and the match program was full of happenings and surprises for the spectators. The last day of the Finals Event included 3 important games which were:the Final of the Championship between Stefites (Heraklion) and Katzouni (Nicossia), the small Final of the Championship between Dilos FC (Volos) and Kyriakos Ioannou (Thessaloniki) and the Big Final of the League Cup between Passage FC (Chalkida) and Adistakti (Athens).
The 1st game which took place was the Final of the League Cup. Passage from Chalkida won the Cup, but the game was very difficult and was determined at the penalties process, as the last second of the extra time, Adistakti managed to score again for 4-4. In the penalties process the score was 9-8 for the team of the city of Chalkida…
The next game was the small final of the Championship (places 3-4). This game is always a game between 2 teams that are not very happy because they just lost the opportunity to be in the Big Final, however, it is a medal game and this motivation is great for the history of the greek Minifootball. Kyriakos Ioannou won the game and the bronze medal, but we have to note that Dilos FC played without their captain and one more player who were injured.
Following the small Final, Kokkina Chalia, a very popular Greek pop music group started their live concert and the spectators started warming up! This concert lasted only 30 minutes, but it was enough to get the crowd going for the big fiesta of the Big Final.
At the same time, more happenings took place in the area of the event, such as a Red Bull show of free style soccer by Alex Pitsalides, free games 7aside by several teams who came to watch the Big Final, games and surprises with the Mascot of the Tournament, lotteries and gifts for the audience and of course… the cheerleaders of the National Team of Greece who put on a great show and keep the interest of the audience at top level!
The teams of the Big Final were presented a la NBA style: one by one with many fireworks and other effects creating an amazing atmosphere in the stadium… Many hundreds of spectators were loud and enthousiastic and that was the best proof of the success!
Katzouni from Cyprus were the big winners of the Final even if Stefites managed to control the game during the 1st part. The final score 4-2 was really fair and shows what happened in this game.
MVP of the Final was Costas Kouloubris from Katzouni.
The Fair Play Prize was given to Kyriakos Ioannou FC from Thessaloniki.
Panhellenic MVP of the season was Chris Zatsai from the Athenian team Katapeltes.
And finally 1st Scorer in Greece was Kanteres from Galactos team of Volos.
It was an amazing night for everyone and we can say that the sponsors had many things to win: N’JOY, the most popular chocolate milk brand in Greece which is the Grand sponsor of the N’JOY UNI-League, Red Bull that supports Minifootball in Greece since 2010 and this is really important for the sport, ekdromi.gr which is the biggest dealsite for travels in Greece, Lighthouse Webdesign which is sponsor of the EMF at European level too and many other companies are included in a long list of the supporters. It is more than obvious that sponsors approach a huge audience in Greece through the N’JOY UNI-League.
