Four years ago Bulgarian Association Minifootball established an IT Championship in Bulgarian capital Sofia, targeted to employees of IT Companies.

This provided opportunity for recreation after the usual hard working day typical for the IT companies.

Currently about 40 IT Teams participate in IT Championship, which is divided in two levels – Premier League and League ONE.

At the beginning the teams from IT Championship was not competitive to the best teams from other tournaments organized by BAMF like Sunday English League and Saturday Amateur League. However the level is growing each year, which could be seen from the results in BAMF Cup Competition, which sees over 200 teams from different Sofia tournaments fight for the title.

In last staging of BAMF Cup i:FAO team was the only team from IT Championship that qualified up to the quarter  finals.

In this year IT Championship competition there are only five rounds left until the mid-season that will be followed by a summer break.

In Premier League the champions in last two years Hewlett-Packard are still on the top with only two points more than MEGALAN and ALCATEL-LUCENT.

The other 3 teams in Top 6 are currently IPSOS, DANTEK and i:FAO.

Current rankings could be seen here:

In League ONE 12 teams are fighting to find a place in Premier League, but only four of them will have this chance.

Bulgaria has highly educated and talented software developers and IT engineers, which can provide high quality of service at a very competitive price.

Many big companies like HP and SAP outsource their IT activities to Bulgaria and the trends show that they are followed also by many small and medium enterprises from Europe and USA.
