Day two of the EMF EURO continued with the seventh match of the day, between Poland and Estonia.
Poland took the lead in the 14th minute when Tomasz Golatowski’s strike passed Estonia’s goalkeeper, with Batlomiej Debicki doubling the lead four minutes from the half time. The large group of Polish fans chanting on the tribune seemed to do the trick and provided enough boost for Poland to keep the two-goal lead until the end of the game. Poland 2, Estonia 0.
Next Bulgaria were up against Wales at the second match of Group E. Wales were pushed back deep into their own half from the kick off as Bulgaria started the match in a rather offensive manner. But the all-reds worked hard to get back in the game and their efforts were rewarded in 16th minute when Josef Hopkins opened the scoring for Wales.
The pace slowed down for the first couple minutes of the second half, but by the 34th minute the score was already 1:3. A double came from Cullen Kinsella, also David Vincent scored an unfortunate own goal. As he started, Josef Hopkins finished the scoring of the match as well with a last-minute goal, securing three points for Wales with the 1:4 final score.
The audience of the day’s ninth match saw Slovakia playing against Scotland. Both teams started the match on a serious note and looked very determined to score the first goal. At the end, with only 2 minutes to go, Slovakia’s Michal Kucera netted the first goal of the game that was also the last one of the first 20 minutes.
Scotland had several opportunities during the second half to close the one-goal gap, but it was not until the 33rd minute that Lee Wells blasted home a penalty and levelled it up for his team. The entertaining battle missed a dramatic end and finished with a 1:1 draw.
