Some days ago, nobody could predict what would happen in the playoff games in the biggest cities of Greece. When this season began, everyone could easily say that there were some teams that would reach the Final of their cities and through this accomplishment they would qualify for the Panhellenic Final 16 Phase. Now, everything changed! Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Volos are some of the cities where unbelievable surprises happened and some favorite teams are already out of the game.
Specifically, in Thessaloniki, RESPECT lost the semi final against LIKOSKILA. The second team made serious efforts during the last 3 years and always there was one team who prevented them from reaching at the Finals. Now they won in penalties procedure and they will play against LARISSA or EVAGORAS for the 1st position of Thessaloniki. However, even if they lose, they will play at the Final 16 Panhellenic games.
In Heraklion, in the 1st semifinal STEFITES, the most historical team coming from the island of Crete won 3-2 versus KOALA, but in the 2nd semi final the lost with the same score and they finally lost the game (score 4-2 in extra time). STEFITES have never been absent from the Final 16 Phase after 2007 and this is a great surprise.
In Volos, the 2 best teams reached the local final, but there, probably nobody would bet on DILDOS versus the last champions GALACTICOS. However they managed to beat them and they won the 1st position.
The situation is not the same in Athens where all the big favorites are still ″in the game″. AMIGOS, LUCKY LOOK, RAMROD, AMPALOI, RIZZLA KRAKOVIAS will experience very difficult games during the next 5 days and on Tuesday (22nd) we will know the champions of the capital city.
It is worth mentioning that in Chalkida, BARCHELONA won the game vs. EKLEKTOI and they are the new champions of the city for this season. This team is a new one but finally their lack of experience did not influence them so much.
After all these notes, and considering the factor that some very historical teams as MEDISOF PC and ALIGN do not participate this year after many years of amazing accomplishments in the N’JOY UNI-League, the Final – 16 phase will be composed by many new teams that do it for the first time, so it will not be an easy task to make any predictions.
