At the beginning of July Deva city become the capital city of the Romanian minifootball. Between 5th-8th July all the best 20 Romanian teams will participate in the Final Phase of the National Minifootball Championship.
The 7 teams which qualify directly according to the coefficient ranking system are Iași, Zalău, Buzău – winner of the 2010/2011 edition, Timişoara, Bacău, Ploieşti and Deva. The 39 remaining clubs, local winners, are drawn into 13 groups of three, each club playing each opponent once. Three points are awarded for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a defeat. The 13 teams will be qualified as group winners and will be joined by the seven clubs which qualified directly.
One of the 7 teams is represented by the winner of the local championship in Deva city. At the moment, the local competition is in the play-off matches. This season’s league title could be decided by the last game between Avantaje and Alfa Team Cristur. This game is destined to be decisive in determining which of two mini-giants will win this season. The winner and the representing team from Deva city will be known on May 13th after a direct game between these two best teams that enter this match with the imperative of victory.
