Being a referee is arguably the hardest thing in football.
However, whether it be Minifootball or the 11-a-side game no match would take place without the man – or woman – in the middle. But thanks to the failed policies of the English FA, refs are leaving the 11-a-side game at an alarming rate, leaving a desperate shortage of match officials in some areas.
Now, in a bid to halt that slide a new company has been formed to recruit refs specifically for the minifootball leagues of the UK and Ireland.
Referee Jobs aims to find, recruit and train referees and place them with the right minifootball league provider, and it has been accredited status as the Preferred Provider of Referees by Association Soccer (soon to be UK Minifootball).
Stuart Dawson of Referee Jobs explained: “We are delighted that Association Soccer has accredited us. We feel there is much work to be done in regards to helping referees thrive and we are happy to have this boost.”
Brian Thorn of Association Soccer commented: “There is no doubt that a specialist recruitment firm for referees will be of great benefit to our members moving forward. Referee Jobs met all our stringent criteria and we wish them well.”
