The Romanian minifootball is a story about friends, about people, about memories and not only about award trophies. The Romanian minifootball knows how to reinvent itself every year to succeed, but the most important point is that a lot of people have become friends through this beautiful game.

Two of them are Nicolin Miroslav and Sorin Ghiuș. One is from Timisoara city and the other one from Bacau city, more than 600 km distance. Both came to Chisinau to participate for the third time in a European minifootball championship, after Bratislava (2010) and Tulcea (2011). Anyway they are the veterans of the Romanian national minifootball team and their friendship proves that minifootball is like a bridge between people, between cultures and nations in the world.

The popularity of minifootball is a reaction to changing work and leisure patterns. Wherever you are around the country, the chances are that there is an opportunity to play minifootball at your doorstep. This could come in all shapes and sizes from a large custom-built Minifootball facility with multiple pitches or even to an 11-a-side pitch temporarily split into smaller pitches.

”The minifootball is a project without borders, without any limits, is a project about all of us who really love the football”, said Razvan Burleanu, President of European Minifootball Federation.
