Squad to be selected from players that played yesterday
The Irish Minifootball Association was delighted at the response to the training day, held at The Watershed in Kilkenny yesterday, which will see the squad selected for miniEURO2015.
Around 30 players attended, including some of the players that brought home the country’s first point at European level with a draw against Italy last year, as well as some of the footballers that represented Ireland in Crete in 2013.
A spokesman said: “We were very pleased with the standard of player we have seen, and we look forward to sending a competitive team to Croatia next month.
“The players were a credit to themselves and we also thank the staff at The Watershed for their assistance during the session.”
Further announcements on the squad will be made in the coming days.
Ireland’s first game at miniEURO2015 will be against Turkey on 21st September, the first day of the Championships.
