The first get-together of the Russian national team took place on April 11-13 at the suburban training ground of the team in Sokolova Pustyn (Stupino District of the Moscow Region).

The management of the team decided to use that get-together in order to consider potential new members of the national team. 14 football players were invited from various cities of Russia, only two of them had played in Greece, the team captain Maxim Kovalchuk and the goalkeeper Ruslan Safarov.

All candidates got the official outfit with national symbols pursuant to the new contract with the technical sponsor of the Russian team, UMBRO company, which has promised to provide kit for all candidates throughout the year.

Within the preparation of the Russian team for МiniEURO 2014 and WMF Championship 2015, an international tournament with participation of three teams was arranged: the Russian team, the Armenian team and the team of the Stupino District.
