Romanian minifootball, one of the few sports in which Romania holds the European title, is preparing for the summer season, for the National Championship and the Romanian Cup finals, two competitions that bring together the best minifootball teams from whole the country.
One week ago the Executive Committee of the Romanian Minifootball Federation decided to improve the organization system of the national tournaments. This is the reason why, from this year in Romania a regional phase for the qualification to the National Championship will be introduced. Romania will be divided geographically into 4 regions. 7 winner teams from the local level will directly qualify for the National Championship taking into consideration the standings (Iași, Zalău, Buzău, Timișoara, Bacău și Ploiești) and also the host city (Deva). All the rest 39 winner teams will play in the regional pre-qualification phase for 13 places. The regional phases will be organized between June 17th and June 24th in four cities: Onești, Deva, Buzău and Zalău.
Between the 28th of June – 1st of July the Romanian Minifootball Federation will organize in the city of Iasi the Romanian Minifootball Cup for the winners of cups from the local level.
Between 5 – 8 July Deva will be the host city of the most important event for the Romanian minifootball, the 6th edition of the National Championship.
”From this year we want to develop this regional phase for the qualification to the National Championship because we want to have present the best 20 teams from whole the country in the final phase. And from the best 20 teams to designate the winning team will get the chance to represent our country in Europe ”, said Răzvan Burleanu, President of the Romanian Minifootball Federation.
Minifootball, more than any other sport, has the gift to offer not only the performance, but also incredible surprises, as could be the double victory of the Romanian national team at the European level. For those who follow this beautiful sport, is certain, the reputation of Romania is the consequence of a good organization at all levels. The reason is that without a major contribution from the sponsors, the minifootball managed to grow rapidly even in a time of crisis.
