The European Championship is already cruising at full speed ahead. The first day had its share of unbelievable surprises, the most important one being that the completion got halted by the rain. It rained cats and dogs, as Englishmen might say, and it was very difficult for most of the teams to play ball on a pool full with water.
Bad things are meant to disappear after a night, so the second day is on its way and for now, the sun is shining. Good reason for us to make a brief review of the results:

MOLDOVA – SLOVAKIA 0-0
MOLDOVA – GERMANY 1-0

Romania won this group, followed by Croatia.

REPUBLIC OF MONTENEGRO – ITALY 4-3

REPUBLIC OF MONTENEGRO – ENGLAND 7-1

The Czechs and Montenegro will play the quarters, Italy and England go home.

KAZAHSTAN – TURKEY 0-0
BULGARIA – GREECE 2-2
BULGARIA – TURKEY 3-0
KAZAHSTAN – GREECE 3-1
KAZAHSTAN – BULGARIA 2-2
TURKEY – GREECE 5-3
Bulgaria won this group, Kazahstan is also in the books for the next round.
The final group matches will be played until late Saturday night, and the decisive quarters, semis and finals will be on Sunday. A tough schedule for these wonderful players, but lets say that no matter what, they did their best on the field. Winners or losers, they all won the respect and cheers of the Moldavians who came to see these matches.
The schedule for the quarters is as follows:
MONTENEGRO – KAZAHSTAN 9 am
SLOVAKIA – CROATIA 10 am
BULGARIA – CZECH REPUBLIC 11 am
ROMANIA – MOLDOVA 12 noon
The semifinals will be at 2 pm and 3 pm respectivelly. The final will be at 6 pm, on Sunday.
