Marius Mitu has been appointed as the new head coach of the Slovak minifootball national team, becoming the first foreign coach in the team’s history.
Mitu is regarded as one of the most successful minifootball coaches in Europe – he won the silver medal with Romania at the 2018 EMF EURO 2018 in Kyiv and led Birbasha Baku to victory in the EMF Champions League 2024.

“Marius Mitu, one of the most respected and accomplished coaches in world minifootball, guarantees that we have done everything possible to ensure the highest quality of our national team staff and to achieve our sporting ambitions,”
said Peter Králik, President of the Slovak Minifootball Association and the European Minifootball Federation (EMF).
“I’m excited about the opportunity to lead the Slovak national team. I know that minifootball is very popular in Slovakia, and I’ll do everything I can to help the team succeed at EMF EURO 2026 and to promote our sport in the best possible way. My first impressions from Slovakia are very positive, and I’m looking forward to my work with the team,”
said Marius Mitu, the new head coach.
