On Saturday 24th of November 2012 In Sports Park Radomlje, who proved to be excellent hosts, the first national championship for the champions of Slovenia in minifootball was completed. The championship comprised the 22 regional champions of minifootball leagues from all parts of Slovenia.

The historic title was won by SIPCA STEKLARSTVO (Sipca Glassware) from Ljubljana – Slovenian central region, after a dramatic final penalty shootout victory won by 5:4 after a 3-3 draw in regular time. They defeated an excellent team KMN MLADINEC (Club Junior) from Murski Crnci (Murska Blacks) – Prekmurje region. The final bronze was won by Celje’s team SARGI – Savinjska region, who was happier in the “lottery” penalty shootout with JEREBIC CRNI RIBIC (Jerebic Black Fishermen) from Ormoz – Podravje region.

The two trophies will both go to the Slovenian premier champions. Coach, Hajro Rizvic and his men, won the trophy for the best recreational minifootball team in Slovenia for 2012. They will keep this forever, while they will be in possession of the SIPCA decorated glassware (at least) till 6th of July 2013 – when the next National Champion will be crowned. The team deserved the accolade as they have not given away even a single point, all the way to the finals.

The top scorer and the player of the Final’s was the exceptional Mitja Flisar from KMN MLADINEC. 23-year-old striker has scored scored 17 goals in nine matches, the last two in the final game. Mitja was on the list of recreational Slovenia national minifootball team for the European Championship miniEURO2012 in Moldova, but he was unfortunately unable to attend. Peter Kelenc of MNK MARINERO was selected as the best goalkeeper and has thus become a candidate for the Slovenian national team.
The award for “Fair-play” was won by the fourth placed team JEREBIC CRNI RIBIC, while Final’s award for the fans and loyal supporters of the day went to team SD LOKE from Menges.

In a very varied sunny cold day of Saturday in the modern sports park Radomlje in four groups competed 22 recreational league champions from ten of the thirteen Slovenian regions. From 9AM to 9PM there were four parallel courts on artificial grass playing with 66 games that were played by the EMF rules. Final game was played on temperature of 5 degrees Celsius.
The organization of the tournament was successful. Champions and runner-ups of the leagues already received invitations for participation in the next national championship for recreational Champion of Slovenia 2013, which will be hold in more pleasant temperature environment in July, on Saturday July 6th 2013. So there will change in the rules of year 2012, the right to play in the national championship will have all the first and second placed teams of minifootball recreational leagues.
