After the opening match, Russia took on Italy and opened Group C with a convincing 11:0 win. Russia decided the encounter quite early. Only 10 minutes after the kick off of the match Russia has already took a 4-goal lead.

Italian encounters became less and less frequent in the utterly one-sided first half. In the final, 20th minute Erik Korchagin helped Russia finish the first half with a convincing 5:0. Thanks to 6 more, amazing unanswered goals during the second half, Russia eventually took a never threatened 11:0 victory.

The pace of the evening slowed down significantly after the Russian goal-festival as it continued with the first match of Group F, between Croatia and Greece. After a relatively equal performance from both teams, with only a few real chances to score on both sides, the match finished surprisingly.

With one minute left of the official time, Christos Ntoumos scored the goal that seemed to grant Greece a victory. Only to find themselves walk off the field minutes later with a 1:1 draw, after Antun Hercigonja struck an equaliser at the 42nd minute.

The first day of the EMF EURO was closed by Montenegro and Austria of Group G. Although Montenegro took total control during the last minutes of the first half, the teams still left for the break with a goalless draw.

Montenegro were looking dangerous every time they got the ball during the second half, so it came as no surprise when Danilo Vulevic did eventually put the ball into the Austrian net twice, within minutes. Damiy Jovanovic’s last minute goal set the final 2:1 result of the last match of the day.
