Predrag Mijatovic, Yugoslav football legend, Buducnost, Partizan, Valencia and Real Madrid praised the work of the Association Minifudbal Montenegro after a meeting with President Nebojsa Kraljevic.
“I am pleased to learn there is such an organization in Montenegro, which brings together people from all parts of our country. When we consider the number of leagues, clubs, participants, but also when we look at the interim results of the national team, it is clear that much has been done. In spite of the problems that come exclusively from the financial side, it is commendable that so many people of different profiles and professions, ages and various soccer skills, take part in the league, recreation and competes with the high level of organization.
Mijatovic revealed that he expects many footballers to take up minifootball after their careers end, saying: “I am looking forward to a great number of former players in the league, players who have had remarkable club and representative career. This is proof that the league and the association believes a lot, but it is certain that the quality of the competition with such players is guaranteed in the future.”
And furthermore the former Madrid man suggested that the levels of skill in the country are proof that the nation will continue to thrive. “Third place in the ranking of European minifudbal Federation is proof that this environment with these people still can fulfil the potential and talent, and I believe that the good results continue at the upcoming European Championship in Hungary,” he said,
“All of us, professional footballers, we started playing football. Even when I played football actively used every opportunity to play some of minifootball in which I would enjoy,” Mijatović added.
Mijatović also pointed out that it is very important that players who play for the national team always give the best of themselves, and that the quantity or the league in four regional centres, Pljevlja, Podgorica, Tivat and Herceg Novi, and bring higher quality.
“As far as I am aware,” said this year’s competition for the largest team to date. The quality has to be a better year because competitors in Europe grow and realize how minifudbal important and popular sport. I hope that the association will manage to cope with difficult financial situation, as I am sure that Montenegro represent adequately. ”
Mijatovic promised to help minifootbal at all levels. His great influence in all spheres of life, especially in the football world, where he has a lot of links and connections in UEFA and FIFA.
Chairmen of the Association thanked Predrag Mijatovic for the kind words of support and a new wave of enthusiasm and positive energy moving in final preparations for the European Championship.
