Activity overview
During EMFCL 2025 in Bulgaria, the MASCOT project activated the Race to Sustainability concept through a combination of project tools, public engagement actions and competition-focused communication.
The activation connected the Race to Sustainability Toolkit, the public MASCOT AR Experience and event-based communication around greener sport choices.

Race to Sustainability tools
The Race to Sustainability Toolkit supports sport organisations, clubs and event organisers with practical guidance on greener event planning, participant engagement and sustainability communication.
The MASCOT AR Experience is publicly available on the EMF website and introduces users to sustainability themes through a browser-based interactive activity: https://www.minifootball.eu/sustainability-race/ar-experience/
Implementation during EMFCL 2025
The EMFCL 2025 environment provided an opportunity to make the MASCOT message visible to athletes, teams, organisers and supporters. The project combined direct engagement, website communication and practical sustainability messages linked to reusable solutions, mobility, waste reduction and public awareness.
The activation demonstrated how the project outputs can be used together: the Toolkit as guidance, the AR Experience as an accessible public engagement tool, and event communication as a way to bring sustainability messages into minifootball competitions.
