Like the rest of Europe, the EMF Family were shocked and saddened by the events of Friday night in the French capital which left at least 129 people dead and hundreds more injured.
The true horror of what happened was very clear, very quickly and the fact that football was used in this way is deeply upsetting. The victims were innocent people murdered while trying to enjoy a Friday night with friends and family at a football match, at a rock concert, or just out with their friends. They did not deserve this treatment at the hands of extremists. No one does.
We are very much a community and at this time, we offer the hand of friendship and support to all our friends and colleagues particularly at this time in France, but also everywhere throughout Europe.
At the EMF we are very proud also of the values that minifootball stands for. We believe that sport should be about inclusion and available to everyone, whatever your background, nationality or faith. Sport can be – and indeed always has been – a unifying force, and that is why we have the motto we do. It is not “They Play” it is “You Play”. We are on all together, now more than ever.
We will continue to strive towards those ideals and work to bring people of all communities together.
Liberté, égalité, fraternité
