Zoran Lukavečki had two slalom runs against Latvia defense and provided best shots of the game in two minutes. That made life much easier for his teamates who runed the show untill the end. Dario Kleščić scored braced, Ivan Rančić dazed and confused Latvian defense for fifth of the game and Girts Burmistris managed to score consolation goal for Latvia. Ive Bura, Bodar KaramatiÄ and Filip Rihtar made final result 8:1.

Romania – Moldova 2:0

The first ten minutes on the pitch saw a lot of midfield action without many chances for goalscoring, before Burciu Radu responded well to a ball from the right wing and Romania took the lead. In the following minutes Moldovan team responded well, took their time with the ball and tried from distance, pressuring Romanians on their half, though without any particular result.The second began with a dynamic goal-to-goal play,with Romania being more concrete and dangerous. The last ten minutes brought additional effort on behalf of Moldovans who tried to return by pressing Romania’s last line of defense.However, Romania pulled back with a superb long-range shot by Costadana who sealed the deal for his national team.

The match began with a couple of dynamic tries on both sides without too much calculation as both teams were eager to take the lead and try to steer the game in a favorable direction. However, it was the Czech Republic that capitalized from two dangerous attacks in the first half “ Koudelka and Fitzel sent unstoppable shots, and Slovakia found themselves in trouble before the second part. Czech Republic, though, confirmed their supremacy on the pitch and scored two quick goals in the second half by Fitzel and Pandera, and went on to dominate the game leaving little space for Slovak offensive manoeuvres.  However, Zidzik (SVK) scored an honorary goal for his team,while Czechs managed to be dangerous andto score oncemore from a beutifully played action.

Montenegro England 2:1

The first few minutes of the match were marked by the testing and Mirotic’s foul over Khanani after which the game referee called a penalty kick. The English, however, do not use this chance, but Gardner brought his team to lead. Montenegro were looking for their game, and in the 13th minute Slobodan Drobnjak made use of a ball from a corner-kick  which left Smith only to see it off to his net. Goran Drobnjak then did not use a fantastic opportunity – Smith pulled a brilliant save. Alibabi was close to score from a corner kick, Mrenovis shot was stopped with great difficulty “as  the pressure increased the English the opportunity to rely on counterattacks which, in this period, were handled by the Montenegrin defense with ease. The second half began with a furious play by Montenegrin selection, and very quickly, after a corner kick, the ball was behind goalkeeper Smith’s back – the ball bounced off one player of England. This own goal meant that the selection of Montenegro took the lead and continued with dangerous attacks over Ristic and then Abramovic. Except one dangerous shot by Kanani and brilliant Mirotics parade, England failed to seriously threaten the Montenegrins.

Greece – Germany 0:4

In the match of two defensive teams it was obvious that one goal can shift play and make difference. Greece had their share of ball and two good shots in first half but Germany provided only goal through Florian Thamm who managed to score with header from few metres. After ten minutes in second half Germans scored three easy goals and it was clear that they will move the next round to play with Montenegro. Sarmie Asiel Massud scored brace and Florian Evers provided another one for final result.

Spain – Slovenia 1:4

In first half of this match neither of teams managed to create bigger goal opportunities. Spain had more ball posession but Slovenia managed to handle their attacks. At 25th minute Mario Fuentes had a fierce shot against the post. Seven  minutes later Slovenia reserve goalkeeper Boris Denac made a huge mistake and allowed to score unexpectedly. Slovenia increased pressure and in the next seven minutes Mitja Flisar scored hattrick from a short range. Darko Zorko sealed victory in the last moments.

In a game which did not offer much in terms of prospective goal opportunities. Kazakhstan was first to seize the lead through Aubakirov, and thanto increaseit throughYussupov. Poland managed to keep the possession butfailed to capitalize from it.

Scotland were brave and opened the match with an early goal by Andrew, leaving the Russians to collect themselves in the following minutes. It did not take much for Russia to score an equalizer through Katnikovs excellent second post reaction. The game continued in the same manner – Scotland put the accent on long balls, while Russia relied on passing. Very soon Scotland took the lead with a header, only to see Russia net from a beautiful passing play on their half. Brilliant Andrews scored his third goal in the 23 rd minute of the match and made Russia lag behind once more tonight. Five minutes later a slow ground ball by Likhobabenko went past several Scottish defenders and tricked their goalkeeper for a new equalizer. Two brilliant chances for Russia ensued, but the match went to the penalty shootout in which Scotland did not make a single mistake.
