Mendes Takes Charge Again

The “Associação Portuguesa MiniFootball” (Portuguese MiniFootball Association) is delighted to confirm that the National Coach Sandro Mendes, who led the Portuguese team in miniEURO 2015 Vrsar in Croatia –  where the team made its debut in the European Championship and achieved third place in the group stage and a historic first victory –  has reached an agreement for the extension of his contract,

This means he will be in charge of the team in a new cycle which will end with the participation in the next miniEURO 2016.

Mendes, 38 years old and a native of Setubal, in addition to this experience in MiniFootball, builds on a technical level experience in Vitoria Setubal where he has been a coach and coordinator of the youth teams department. As a player, Sandro Mendes was international Under-20 and Under-21 Portuguese and AA by Cape Verde, having played in the Portuguese Premier League for teams such as Vitoria Setubal and FC Porto to claim a Portuguese Cup in and one League Cup and abroad in countries like Spain and Turkey.
