Lithuanian Minifootball Plays Active Part In Anti-Discrimination Action Week

During the FARE Action week organised by Liikkukaa! in Helsinki, Lithuanian Minifootball League  (MFL) had a chance to take part on the final seminar of this event. The main focus was to built cooperation around football and discrimination issues in Baltic – Nordic area and to share experiences between Lithuania, Finland, Denmark and Estonia.

The morning session was committed on Scandinavian experience of the issues that minorities face and the best practice of social inclusion. In the afternoon session MFL representatives introduced last discrimination cases of sport in Lithuania. Also they were able to listen to talks with other groups who are dedicated to progressive issues surrounding things like women’s involvement, higher turnout of Polish and Russian players in tournaments. MFL takes pleasure that Lithuania becoming more open and in last few years has made big steps forward in inclusion..

As the best practice MFL had a chance to receive – sharp impression from miniEURO in Greece – where different ethnic groups, different nationalities and races met on the same football field to show that for them Football is the most common language connecting all of us.
