In 2012, between March 23rd-25th, 15 presidents of national minifootball associations participated in the Prague Meeting for the founding of the European Minifootball Federation (EMF).
EMF, as the minifootball governing body at European level, has the purpose to promote, supervise and develop minifootball in Europe.
The term minifootball refers to small sided football open only to amateur players. All the competitions are focused on player development, teambuiding, fair-play and inter-relation among thousands of players who take part in this moment at a European level – more than 500.000 players in all 15 member countries.
All the member organizations have proven their capacity to organize minifootball at a national level. On a European scale, two editions of European Minifootball Championship have already been organized, in Bratislava (Slovakia) in 2010 and in Tulcea (Romania) in 2011 without the existence of an official institutional body for this purpose. Now, the European minifootball has already made an important step in the history of Europe, as the most important high level meeting for the future of the grassroot sport will be held in Prague. This project is from now on called –European Minifootball Federation.
EMF represents 15 countries to date (Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, CzechRepublic , Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Luxembourg, Poland, Great Britain, Israel, Italy and Kazakhstan).

The next event will be organized in Moldova, in September, for what will be the third edition of the European Minifootball Championship for all national teams.
