The President of the Irish Minifootball Association, Declan Ford admitted he was excited at the prospect of the trials and added: “The quality of player that we will see on view re-affirms my belief that, in pushing to take part in the miniEURO event, we have done exactly the right thing. Not only will it be a tremendous experience for all concerned, both players and officials, but it is something that we feel we can go and give a good a really positive account of ourselves of both ourselves and our country.”
MiniEURO2013 is the second time the event has been held on such a large scale. The 2012 event was held in Moldova and was won by Romania.
As was previously announced in July, the Irish team will take on their counterparts from Montenegro, Moldova and Israel in the group stages, with the final times for fixtures to be announced.
The miniEURO event takes place in Crete from 10-14th October and all the news will appear here.
