Injury Heartbreak For Long Serving Greek Star Karatis

The Greek National Team continues the preparation for miniEURO 2014 but the most experienced player of the team, but must make do without their longest serving player.

Alexis Karatis who is the only player who has participated in miniEURO 2012 in Moldova and in miniEURO 2013 in Greece, suffered injury heartbreak and was seriously injured as he suffered a cruciate knee ligament tear and he will need to stay away from the pitch for about six months. It was a shock for the coach of the team Apostolis Gkaifilias and his teammates who all promised to do their best and dedicate their victory to him.

Stratis Sipetzis, on behalf of the Executive of the team expressed his sympathy about to Alexis, but was determined that the loss wouldn’t undermine the potential success of the team even without one of the most important players: “We are all sad in the Greek delegation but we live in sports and we must learn how to live with the injuries and with sudden losses. Alexis is a real hero for the team and we are sure that he will return stronger.”

At the same time, the N’JOY UNI-League, the National Minifootball Championship is ready to start its registrations period in September 22nd and many new players will try to perform as better as they can in order to be in the selection of the team of next season which will represent the country in miniEURO 2015 in Torino.
