The second day of the tournament started off with Bosnia & Herzegovina playing, in rather unfriendly weather conditions, against the Ukrainian team in which the former came out on top after a fairly one-sided game.

Bosnia & Herzegovina started the first half in a positive manner. They soon made a very strong statement, with several dangerous shots on goal, of their intentions to win the first match of Group H. In the 13th minute Andreas Berovic’s strike finally provided his team with the well-deserved lead.

The largely eventless second half was interrupted by Berovic’s second goal of the match at the 31st minute. Ukraine’s Igor Kladov has lifted his team’s sprite a little with a last-minute goal, providing the 2:1 final score.

Next Kazakhstan were up against Latvia in the arena. The strong-looking Kazakhstan took charge early on, racing into a 1-goal lead by end of the first minute, and keeping the lead until the end of the first 20 minutes.

At the 28th minute, the hero of Kazakhstan team, Darkhan Yussup scored his second goal of the match, which was minutes later answered by Latvia’s Valerijs Cistjakovs. With one minute left on the clock, Assan Barlybayev’s goal secured a 3:1 victory and three points for Kazakhstan.

Moldova and Luxemburg made their way to the field in heavy rain. Moldova had a brilliant start to the game and forged ahead to 6:0 by the end of the first half, leaving Luxemburg devastated.

Minutes after the second half started Luxemburg’s goalkeeper Ivano Reiter had to leave the field due to a serious-looking head injury and was replaced by Thierry da Graca. Thanks to 5 unanswered goals during the rest of the game, Moldova finished their brilliant first game with a convincing 11:0 win.
