The England players who are setting off to Sippersfield this weekend to play Germany and Belgium in a tri-nations Championship have received high-level backing.
The British Consul Susan Speller sent her good wishes to the team from her Berlin base, saying: “and were very interested to hear about the European minifootball competition in Sippersfeld! We wish the team good luck in Sippersfeld and at the championships in Croatia in September.”
The consul-general is the senior UK official in a consulate general, which is a subordinate office to the embassy or high commission, usually located in another major city. The consul-general represents the UK government and is typically responsible for consular, visa and trade activities in their city or region.
Ms. Speller and her team promote UK exports to Germany, German investment in the UK; and provide consular assistance to British National.
The matches are seen as vital preparation for the team ahead of the miniEURO2015 event, which kicks off in Vrsr on 21st September.
It is the second time that the team have competed in the tri-nations in Sippersfield. Last year they beat Luxembourg and were on course to beat Germany, before being pegged back in the last few seconds of the game.
