The Portuguese Elite Futebol 5 & 7 event was held at the Monte Gordo Sports Complex in the Algarve, where it was possible to witness the best of 5-a-side and 7-a-side football practised in Portugal.
This event was organized by Associação Portuguesa MiniFootball (Portuguese MiniFootball Association) and represented the culmination of the second season 2014/2015 of the SuperLiga Nacional Futebol 5 and SuperLiga Nacional Futebol 7, the national 5-a-side and 7-a-side championships.
In a field of 400 teams and 4000 players, the best 27 teams – 6 Teams from 5-a-side Football and 21 teams from 7-a-side football – qualified and travelled freely from around the country to the best tourist region in Portugal and one of the best in all Europe.
On a sunny weekend and with a superb view over the ocean, the teams were accommodated at the biggest Hotel in the village of Monte Gordo only 100m away from the Beach and 50m away from the sports complex. The Monte Gordo Sports Complex integrating three 7-a-side football pitches and 1 exclusive 5-a-side football pitch became the perfect location to host the Elite Futebol 5 & 7.
The event was initiated by Saturday morning with the draws for the group stages of both competitions. The games of the group stage took place during the day of Saturday until the end of the night and ended on Sunday morning with the last game. The Sunday was thus marked by happiness for some and sadness for others. Subsequently took place the quarter-final and semi-finals of both competitions, getting to the late afternoon Finals games.
