Czech Republic are the the new European Champions after beating Romania 4-1 in the final. The match started in pouring rain after an extreme thunderstorm in Kiev on Saturday night. The extreme weather conditions and the wet pitch created difficult playing conditions but the match officials decided to play the match as the ‘the show must go on’.
Czech Republic took the lead with an early goal from Jan Koudelka at the 2nd minute and doubled the lead with another goal by Ondřej Paděra in the 7th minute. In the 2nd half Jan Koudelka scored another 2 goals completing a personal hat-trick and an unforgettable evening. Romania managed to get one goal back by Inout Andrei Nemitanu. 4-1 the final score and first European title for World Champions Czech Republic.
