This minifootball article is devoted to the first in the country. 37-year-old team captain and manager Hajro Rizvic in November 2012 with its SIPCA Glassware minifootball team taken an historic minifootball crown in Slovenia.
The success in Sports Park Radomlje is far from the only one that is in their cabinets with trophies coming regularly for the team, whose origins date back deep into the 1990s.
In the first of a two part interview with Hajro, we peeked in the “soul” of the team, without which SIPCA today would not be what it is.
Hajro, 2012 was the SIPCA Glassware team very successful. After two Ljubljana crowns are put away in cabinets in public recreation. What are your feelings?
“Very nice. Besides all this is that we are recreational Slovenian champions!”
What kind of expectations did you actually went to first Slovenian minifootball Championship at Radomlje?
We didn’t have any thoughts. Thoughts were empty because we could not imagine what the level of competition will take place. As a team with such a band, as was ours, we must set only one goal – to win!”
SIPCA included former soccer aces Selvad Kujovic, Ermin Rakovic, Luka Zinko, etc.. How did it come about that such names responded to the recreational tournament?
“This is a result of friendships from an early age, mostly because we all played football together in the younger categories in Ljubljana clubs. This is our most powerful weapon – not just a goal, we are also good friends for several decades. We play minifootball to socialize at least twice a week. This is our first goal. The fact that we are at the same team is very good at this age (all of 30 years), is just extra motivation. ”
In part two, next week, we will find out how Hajro thought the tournament went.
