This weekend England, new EMF-member Belgium and Germany fight for the mybet 3-Nations-Cup in Sippersfeld, Germany. The matches could be seen as mere friendlies, after all, the cup is a nice trophy to win and on the other hand a good preparation for the miniEURO2015. For Germany however, it´s more than that.
A few days ago, Germany finished its trials in Kaiserslautern. All in all more than 50 players reached the first scouting round and tried to convince the coaches Mueller and Maak over the last few weeks in three partly-open castings of being the right players for the squad who will play miniEuro in Vrsar. After all three pre-scouting’s there are only 20 players left in the race for a place in the team. Since only a maximum of 14 players will make their way to Vrsar, the mybet 3-Nations-Cup this weekend promises football on a very high level and everybody has to show his skills under competitive conditions. There will be 10 totally new players in action which means, we will see at least four or them in Croatia at the end of September.
It´s a fact that Germany will have an improved squad this year which also affects the ambitions of association president Christoph Koechy: “Until today we played three miniEuros, achieved one third and one fourth place. Of course, we aim to win the title in the near future! That is why we travel through the whole German Republic to find the best of the best in German Minifootball. I´m sure that, with the selective recruitment this year and the experience of the past tournaments, we will again be a serious title contender!”
