It was a lucky 13th season for the N’JOY UNI-League!

A great fiesta was organized for the Big Final of the Greek Championship with many attractions and shows which also was popular with the many spectators who filled the tribunes!

The Greek Cup, which is actually the 2nd division was won by Adistaktoi, the team of the Greek National players Nikos Kammenos and Vaggelis Gkiatis.

In the third and fourth placed play-off in the Championship, the team of Alex Karatis, Leonidas Papadopoulos and Paschalis Ksanthos won the Ramrod II FC where Dimitris Karavidas plays. And at the big final there was only one National player in both teams, it was Dimitris Leventis, the scorer of the 2nd goal of Greece against Lithuania in miniEURO 2013. He plays for Kostakides who finally won Larissa City FC from Thessaloniki. Of course after the great performance of those two teams, it is sure that Apostolis Gkaifilias will probably include some more players at least for the pre-selection trainings of the National Team.

Socrates Douvlis, the 2 meters height giant of Kostakides made an amazing record as he won six prizes in one season (four personal prizes: Athens MVP, Athens 1st scorer, Panhellenic MVP and Panhellenic 1st scorer and two team prizes: Silver medal in Athens and golden medal on Panhellenic level) . Of course he will be one important members of the National Team of Greece in 2014.

Some of the great shows of the fiesta were the cheerleaders of the Greek National team Elite Amazones, Unileaguas – the 13 year old mascot of the championship, free style show by the Red Bull athlete Alex Pitsalides, great music by a DJ and an outstanding stand-up comedy by the famous Greek comedian Chr. Zaralikos.

Apart from the great atmosphere that was created, there was another important fact about this event. The fiesta was a memorial for Alexandros Skopelitis, a Greek Minifootball player from Volos who was killed in car accident 2 weeks before the event. He was supposed to be with his team in the Final Phase but finally there were other plans for him… All players wore black ribbons at their arms and there was a 1 minute silence before the beginning of the game and of course his team, won the Fair Play award, as they played despite the shocking fact that happened to them.. Their jerseys actually were printed with his name and the captain of the team Giannis Antzouris, another National player, said that they had to play for him…
