Slovenian minifootball is gearing up for the date in June this year for the second time won for its minifootball championship. The title went last year went CMM juniors from Murska, who saw the trophy lifted the captain Bostjan Granfol – an important and long-standing member of the team that to his team, friends and games developing a special relationship. In this part one of the special two part interview, we learn details of his career, as well as background of CMM juniors, one of the premier teams in Slovenia.
Bostjan you must be delighted?!
“Yes, we did it! With a little luck, but we did it. We were prepared for everything and we have also embarked on the path. Our journey to the top took place just as the previous year, at the same time with the same equipment and the same fans . We gathered at 6 o’clock in the morning, in the local restaurant in our village. It was probably because of all of this was meant that this day should become ours. ”
You had to face defending champions Sipco Glassware in the Quarter Finals. Did you expect victory?
“Yes, it’s true, the defending champion , we have already met in them in the quarterfinals stage before. It is a team which is not lacking in quality and experience, it has long been playing together and they love football. The match was a tactical game with few opportunities, but with one difference from last year when we did not have luck that this time was on our side. Nevertheless, I think we deserved to win that day because we were a little better. ”
In the finals again you did not have it easy. What were your feelings when you were behind at 0-1?
“Even in the final, in which we went with a little fear, we started very well, with quite a few opportunities in the beginning, but we just couldn’t score. But our durability is what makes us the most feared of items. Until the first goal in the championship against us, and that in the final. Yes, frankly, we were afraid ungrateful another location. And for the second time. But crucial it was not just the fact that we had one of the best defence in the tournament, but also that we have the right team spirit – and players like Mitja Flisarja that can match always turns in our favour. That proved to be the case again in the finals, while we were pushing for the equalizer. The match was exciting, but in the end I think we deserved to win. ”
How was a resounding success in the home region?
“Success in our region was very popular, because praise is coming from all sides, we had an official reception at the Municipality, which our mayor. Mention of us in all the region’s website and in all the newspapers and radio. ”
You must be very emotional after such a wonderful achievement?
“It was emotional because the first plan did not go to the championship win , we went after a good result and promote our good football, which is played in Prekmurje. We are a good team , and more importantly , we are good friends . The combination of all this is necessary for good results. We are proud of what we have achieved this result and we were even closer after . Next year, we will be happy to respond if we get the chance . We will not get the trophy , but on a trip with friends . If the trip can play good football and win with friends , this is the sweetest thing . ”
